PHI Implants are a novelty in the field of bone-integrated implants due to a specific surgical technique validated by repeated meticulous clinical trials. The PHI method allows primary type bone repair.Primary bone healing has been studied chiefly in orthopaedics by Prof. R.K. Schenk of the University of Bern. Today with PHI implants the primary bone repair process is also applied in implantology.Whereas traditional implants are always inserted into the cavity with a forcing manoeuvre - screwing or hammering - with the PHI implant insertion is by coupling without forcing. This means not only absence of pressure but absence of tension.The process of integration of the PHI implant has been evaluated in a multicentre study carried out in 8 centres on about 2500 implants inserted over 24 months with an overall success rate of 99.28% (mandible and maxilla). The scientific value of the tests on isolated bovine ribs on rabbits on pigs and on non-human primates conducted in collaboration with Italian and foreign universities (Chieti Milan; Buenos Aires Dijon) has been recognised internationally.
